Thierry Henry says Antonio Conte is a “killer” when it comes down to business on the football pitch.

The Italian has been celebrating a brilliant first season at Chelsea after the Blues were crowned as Premier League champions on Friday night.

Conte was brought in as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at Stamford Bridge last summer and his impact at the club has been nothing short of remarkable.

The Blues had finished 10th and without a trophy last term but Conte has transformed the west London side into Premier League champions in style.

Chelsea also have the chance to win a domestic double this season when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.

And Henry has given his take on exactly what has made Conte such a big success at Chelsea this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday night, Henry said: “He doesn’t give his team one inch.

“I would have loved to have had him as a coach because if you’re a winner and a competitor, although at times it can be a little bit annoying, you respect that. You go out there to play for him.

“He gives 100 per cent and you want to give that back to him.

“He’s a simple guy, though. When you talk to him outside football he is very simple and laid back – just a normal guy. But when it comes to business, he’s there to kill.”
