Cesc Fabregas sends message to Arsenal fans ahead of Chelsea cup final
Cesc Fabregas admits that it will be emotional for him to play for Chelsea in the FA Cup final against Arsenal
Cesc Fabregas has admitted that Arsenal are a club close to his heart but says he wants to help Chelsea “hurt” them in the FA Cup final.
Fabregas was crowned a Premier League champion for a second time on Friday night when he helped Chelsea beat West Brom 1-0 at The Hawthorns.
Antonio Conte will now look to try and help Chelsea win a domestic double when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
Former Arsenal captain Fabregas spent eight years at The Emirates before leaving the club in the summer of 2011.
But the 30-year-old midfielder is now purely focused on helping Chelsea try to beat Arsenal and take home a trophy double this season.
Fabregas is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “They are defensively better. They are winning and that’s important for them.
“But our belief is high, hopefully we can hurt them in the way we want.
“It’s not as if I like to play against Arsenal because they are a club who is in my heart and they will always be.
“But this is football and this is what we have to do, it can happen and hopefully we can win the double.
“Imagine that! It would be fantastic. It would be fantastic for the players. It would be fantastic for the manager. To do it in his first season after the problems we faced.”
Chelsea will make a return to the Champions League for next season after their title triumph this term under new boss Conte.
