Nathan Ake sends message to Chelsea fans about defender
Nathan Ake reveals he has learned a lot from Chelsea captain John Terry over the last few years
Nathan Ake has revealed that he has learned a lot from Chelsea captain John Terry during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The Dutch youngster was recalled from his loan spell at Bournemouth back in January after impressing for Eddie Howe’s men in the Premier League.
Ake has made a handful of appearances for Chelsea first team as he bids to try and prove himself worthy of a starting spot in Antonio Conte’s first team next season.
The defender has revealed that Terry has always been there for him and has given him advice following his arrival at the club.
Ake told Chelsea’s website: “He’s always been there, helping and talking, since I was 17 and I first came into the team under Rafael Benitez,” the 22-year-old said.
“He’s always been there for me, on and off the pitch. He tries to help, that’s just the way he is.
“He plays his own game but also looks out for others as well, so it was really nice to play with him.”
Ake will be hoping to be involved when Chelsea take on Sunderland in their final game of the season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea are still looking to win a domestic double this season and will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on 27 May.
