Gary Neville sends message to Chelsea fans about Pedro Rodriguez
Gary Neville explains why he picked Pedro as his man of the match during Chelsea's 3-0 win over Everton
Gary Neville has explained why he picked Pedro Rodriguez as Chelsea’s man of the match in their clash with Everton on Sunday afternoon.
After a goalless first half at Goodison Park, Pedro gave the visitors the lead in spectacular fashion when he fired home a brilliant left-footed strike.
The goal opened up the game and Chelsea then added two more thanks to strikes from Gary Cahill and substitute Willian.
And Neville was hugely complimentary of Pedro’s performance for Chelsea as he picked the former Barcelona star as the man of the match on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville said: “The man of the match went to Pedro purely because of the way that goal transformed the match completely.
“It was a moment of magic. This game was drifting for 65 minutes – there was nothing in it. Pedro deserved it. It was a wonderful moment and wonderful goal.”
Pedro has been a consistent performer for Chelsea this season, scoring eight goals and making eight assists in 31 Premier League games for the Blues.
Chelsea know that winning three of their remaining four games will secure them the title this season after Tottenham were 2-0 winners over Arsenal later on Sunday.
