Thierry Henry sends message to Chelsea fans about Pedro Rodriguez
Thierry Henry reveals just why he is such a keen admirer of Chelsea attacker Pedro Rodriguez
Thierry Henry believes Chelsea fans are lucky to have a player of Pedro Rodriguez’s quality in their squad after he fired them to a 3-0 win over Everton on Sunday.
The Spaniard has been in fine form for Antonio Conte’s men this season and set Chelsea on their way towards victory at Goodison Park with a superb left-footed shot into the top corner.
The goal paved the way for Gary Cahill and Willian to get on the scoresheet later in the second half as Chelsea took another big step towards winning the title this season.
And Henry, who played alongside Pedro during their spell at Barcelona, admits that he is a huge admirer of the Spain international.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Henry said: “We’re talking about a guy who played in the best team in the world for a very long time.
“He has that [type of goal] in his locker. I trained with him and I still don’t know if he’s right-footed or left-footed.
“But man, that was some goal. He has no problem going on his left or right foot – and what a way to unlock the game.”
Pedro, 29, has scored eight goals and made eight assists in the Premier League so far this season for Chelsea.
He will be hoping to help the west London club win a domestic double this season, with the Blues set to take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final this month.
