Thierry Henry sends message to Chelsea concerning Tottenham
Thierry Henry warns Chelsea that the title race is still not over, despite Tottenham's loss to West Ham
Thierry Henry has warned Chelsea that the title race is still not over despite Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to West Ham on Friday night.
Spurs’ title hopes were dealt a severe blow when they were beaten by their bitter London rivals on Friday to leave Chelsea needing two wins from their remaining four games to lift the Premier League trophy.
Chelsea can take a big step towards winning the title when they take on Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday night in their next Premier League games.
However, Arsenal legend Henry says it is still up to Chelsea to deliver the needed results to get themselves over the line.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Friday’s game, Henry said: “You still have to wait for Chelsea to win their next two games.
“You expect Mauricio Pochettino to say that [it’s not over]. He is a winner. He is a competitor.”
Tottenham ended up third in the Premier League table last season after challenging Leicester City for much of the latter stages of the campaign.
Spurs’ next Premier League game is a home clash against Manchester United at White Hart Lane on 14 May.
