Thierry Henry: People have been talking nonsense about Chelsea
Thierry Henry has his say on Chelsea's critics this season after they won the Premier League title
Thierry Henry has dismissed suggestions that Chelsea’s style of play has not been entertaining this season.
The Blues clinched the Premier League title on Friday night thanks to their 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to score the all important winner late on to wrap up the title in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Their success this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th and without a trophy.
And Arsenal legend Henry has dismissed any criticism of Chelsea’s style of play under their new manager.
Henry said on Sky Sports: “It’s people talking nonsense sometimes.
“They’re strong at the back, when they need to score, they score.
“They have scored some brilliant goals. Eden Hazard taking the ball from the half-way line against Arsenal – what more do you want? That’s what a champion is supposed to do.
“Yes, they had five or six games when they won 1-0 but you’re not lucky over 38 games.
“The balance is right and you have to give Antonio Conte a lot of credit for that.”
Chelsea are still looking to win a domestic double this season and will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
The Blues host Watford in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
