Chelsea are ready to make transfer bid to sign Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko and will step up their chase next week, according to reports in the British media.

The Telegraph is reporting that Antonio Conte has identified the 22-year-old as one of his top summer targets and that they are set to ramp up their efforts to sign him in the coming days.

The same report states that Bakayoko is likely to cost Chelsea at least €50m (£42.7m).

The article goes on to claim that Chelsea will have at least £200m to spend this summer as Conte gears up for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The story says Bakayoko is a “key target” for Chelsea as Conte looks to bolster his midfield options at Stamford Bridge.

Conte is said to significantly bolster his squad this summer as he prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

The report also claims that Chelsea are interested in Bakayoko’s Monaco team-mate Thomas Lemar but the Blues feel it is unlikely the French side would sell both players this summer.
