Ian Wright states his prediction for Chelsea v Middlesbrough
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright can't see Middlesbrough upsetting Chelsea's title bid this weekend
Ian Wright doesn’t expect Middlesbrough to cause Chelsea any problems at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Premier League leaders started the weekend seven points clear of their closest title rivals Tottenham Hotspur thanks to two successive top-flight victories.
Chelsea were 4-2 winners against Southampton at Stamford Bridge last month before an outstanding 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
The west London side restored their four-point lead thanks to their win on Merseyside after Tottenham were emphatic 2-0 win against Arsenal in the north London derby.
Middlesbrough have only managed to score 26 goals in 35 games in the Premier League this season following their promotion to the top flight last term.
Former Arsenal striker Wright backed Chelsea to ease to a comfortable win against relegation-threatened Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
“There is nothing in this game that makes me think Chelsea are not going to win it!” Wright told The Sun Goals app.
“I know people said that before Palace because they were in such good form. They still are.
“I can’t see it happening in this game becuase Chelsea are at home and Middlesbrough do not score goals. Chelsea have too much going forward.”
Chelsea are looking to win a second Premier League title in three seasons but first under Antonio Conte.
The Blues signed five players in the 2016 summer transfer window after Conte’s appointment.
