Gary Neville reacts to Eden Hazard’s display for Chelsea at West Brom
Gary Neville has his say on Eden Hazard's performance for Chelsea at West Brom on Friday night
Gary Neville criticised Eden Hazard for not being at his best in Chelsea’s recent away games after the Blues’ 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Friday night.
Chelsea clinched their second Premier League title in three seasons thanks to a narrow win at The Hawthorns.
The Belgian playmaker struggled to produce his best form for Chelsea at The Hawthorns as they snatched victory thanks to substitute Michy Batshuayi’s late goal.
Former Manchester United defender Neville has not been impressed by Hazard’s recent displays for Chelsea away from home.
And the ex-England star did not hold back when delivering his assessment of Hazard during Friday night’s game at The Hawthorns after the Belgian was substituted in the second half.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville said: “The last few games I’ve seen him away from home – at Old Trafford, Goodison Park and here tonight – he’s been well below his best.”
Hazard will be hoping to help Chelsea win a domestic double this season when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
Chelsea have the chance to win the Premier League in front of their home fans when they host Watford at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
