Eden Hazard warns Chelsea team-mates of ‘trouble’ next season
Eden Hazard warns Chelsea they will be "in trouble" if they don't maintain their high standards next season
Eden Hazard has admitted that Chelsea will be “in trouble” if they do not maintain their standard in the Premier League next season.
The Blues have been the Premier League’s top team this season and were crowned champions earlier this month after an impressive campaign under new manager Antonio Conte.
Chelsea can still end this season with a domestic double and will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley next weekend.
The Blues’ remarkable upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th in the Premier League table and without a trophy.
And the 26-year-old Hazard has warned his Chelsea team-mates that they will have to be on guard to make sure they can perform at the same level next season.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, Hazard said: “That’s football. Sometimes you’re on the top. Two years ago we won the league.
“Last season was difficult for some reason. Sometimes motivation is not on the top, fitness is not on the top… a lot of things.
“We started this season well. We won the league but next season we will be in trouble if we don’t work hard like this season.
“We have to be ready every year on the same level to be at the top.”
Chelsea take on Sunderland in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday afternoon.
