Insider: The truth behind Eden Hazard’s proposed move from Chelsea to Real Madrid
Guillem Balague says Chelsea will not sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window
Guillem Balague has insisted that Eden Hazard will not join Real Madrid this summer – because Chelsea do not want to sell the player.
Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months amid suggestions that Real Madrid are keen to bring the playmaker to the Bernabeu.
The 26-year-old has been in superb form for Chelsea this season and his 15 goals in the Premier League have helped to propel Antonio Conte’s men to within two wins of the title.
The playmaker has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid but there is yet to be any official announcement from either club.
Now, Spanish football expert Balague has appeared to rule out the possibility of the La Liga giants signing Hazard this summer by revealing that Chelsea are determined not to sell their prized asset.
“I have said it before and I insist on this: Chelsea do not want to sell Hazard, so they won’t,” Balague told Sky Sports.
“This is going to be perhaps one of the biggest summers in terms of spending and the teams that will spend most of the money are in the Premier League.
“It’s going to be a huge summer. But Chelsea don’t want to get rid of Hazard.
“Real Madrid have Marco Asensio, who has played in a similar role to Hazard and has looked fantastic.
“For all those reasons, Hazard will not go to Real.”
Hazard will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues take on Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Monday night at Stamford Bridge.
