Frank Lampard: My warning for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte
Frank Lampard discusses why he is expecting Chelsea to be put through a serious test next season
Frank Lampard has warned Antonio Conte that his Chelsea team will be put through a huge test of character in his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have been in brilliant form under their new manager this season and wrapped up the Premier League title on Friday night thanks to a 1-0 win at West Brom.
Chelsea could still end the season with a domestic double, with the Blues set to take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley at the end of the month.
However, Lampard feels that Chelsea will have to step their game up next season as they look to defend their Premier League title and get ready for a return to the Champions League.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday night, Lampard said: “It will be a big test next year.
“The formation won’t be a surprise to anybody.
“All the other teams are going to be back stronger next year, too.”
Chelsea will celebrate winning the Premier League title in front of their home fans on Monday night when they host Watford at Stamford Bridge.
