Gary Lineker reacts to Marcus Rashford’s goal in Man United’s 1-0 win at Celta Vigo
The England legend was left speechless after Marcus Rashford's stunning free-kick for Manchester United
Gary Lineker hailed Marcus Rashford’s “sensational” free-kick in Manchester United’s 1-0 win at Celta Vigo on Thursday night.
Jose Mourinho started with the England striker in a lone role for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final in Spain.
Rashford was guilty of wasting a great chance to break the deadlock either side of half-time as Manchester United looked to score a vital away goal.
The 19-year-old earned a free-kick with a driving run in the second half and Rashford curled a finish past the Celta Vigo goalkeeper to break the deadlock in style.
Former England and Tottenham striker Lineker was full of praise for Rashford after the striker’s incredible free-kick in the Europa League semi-final in Celta Vigo.
Lineker wrote: “Superb from Rashford. Absolutely sensational. 19 years old and steps up to take @ManUtd’s freekicks ahead of Pogba et al. He’s got it all.”
Rashford has now scored two goals in nine appearances in the Europa League this season.
The teenager netted the club’s extra-time winner in a 2-1 victory over Anderlecht in the second leg of their quarter-final.
Manchester United are in fifth place in the Premier League table.
