Gary Neville reacts to Harry Kane’s goal in Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Man United
The former Manchester United defender hails Harry Kane's brilliant goal for Tottenham in Sunday's 2-1 win
Gary Neville hailed Harry Kane’s brilliant strike in Tottenham’s 2-1 win against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Lilywhites made the breakthrough in the sixth minute thanks to Victor Waynama’s close-range header after the Kenya international rose above captain Wayne Rooney to guide his effort past Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.
Tottenham striker Kane doubled the home side’s lead in the second half with a deft finish from a set-piece as the England international opened his goal-scoring account against the Red Devils at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Kane has scored 22 goals in 28 games in the Premier League to help Tottenham to secure second place in the table.
Speaking to Sky Sports about the Tottenham centre-forward’s effort in the second half at White Hart Lane, former Manchester United defender Neville said:
“The pace was on the cross. Kane’s just onside. Chris Smalling allows Harry Kane in front of him. There is no way you can do it. It’s a fantastic goal.
“It’s a lot better than any of us can seen from the live shots. its absolutely brilliant. It gives David De Gea no chance.”
Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent seasons but the Tottenham striker has previously reiterated his commitment to Tottenham.
Spurs lost 4-2 to title winners Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last month.
