Glenn Hoddle believes Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe has all the attributes required to become a top player.

The France international scored a consolation goal for Monaco in a 2-1 loss to Juventus in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night.

Mbappe has netted six times in nine games in the Champions League this term, which has naturally attracted plenty of interest in the 18-year-old.

Chelsea have been linked with a move to sign Mbappe in the summer transfer window but the Premier League leaders will face competition from Manchester United.

Speaking to BT Sport about Mbappe’s goal in Monaco’s 2-1 loss to the Serie A champions, former Chelsea manager Hoddle delivered an exciting verdict on the teenager.

“For a young kid, he’s got his timing absolutely perfect there. The ball is being played before he makes his movement, that’s why it’s so hard to defend.

“How quick did he do that aswell? It was a split second.

“But we’ve seen him finish with guile, beautiful ones in the top corner as well as goals like that.

“The kid’s got everything.”

Mbappe has scored 14 goals and has made six assists in 26 appearances in Ligue 1 this season in what is his breakthrough campaign at the French club.

Chelsea will be looking to add numbers to their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next term.
