Graeme Souness heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur for an emphatic performance in their last-ever game at White Hart Lane after Sunday’s 2-1 win against Manchester United.

The north London side made the breakthrough in the sixth minute thanks to Victor Wanyama’s close-range header after the Kenya international rose above Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

Tottenham didn’t show any signs of disappointment after Chelsea won the Premier League title on Friday night thanks to a 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Spurs extended their lead in the second half when Harry Kane scored his 22nd goal of the 2016-17 Premier League season thanks to a deft flick to get on the end of Christian Eriksen’s free-kick.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Tottenham’s performance in the last-ever Premier League fixture at White Hart Lane, former Spurs midfielder Souness said:

“Spurs have been fabulous. Bang at it. They have been fabulous to watch.”
