Ian Wright: What I really think about Granit Xhaka at Arsenal

Ian Wright says the jury is still out on Granit Xhaka following his first season at Arsenal

Ian Wright believes the jury is still out on Granit Xhaka following a mixed first season for the midfielder at Arsenal.

The Switzerland international signed for the Gunners from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer and has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first-team this season.

However, most Arsenal fans would agree that they are yet to see the best from Xhaka following his arrival at The Emirates last year.

And although Arsenal legend Wright has no doubt that Xhaka has the talent needed to succeed, he feels that the midfielder is yet to prove himself in a Gunners shirt.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Xhaka said: “He’s definitely got the ability but they jury is still out on him, for me.”

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a trip to Southampton.

Xhaka could still end his first season in charge at Arsenal with a trophy, with the Gunners set to take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.
