Insider claims Man United aren’t interested in 25-year-old midfielder despite reports
Daily Telegraph journalist James Ducker pours cold water on talk of Manchester United signing James Rodriguez this summer
Manchester United aren’t interested in a deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, according to a Telegraph reporter.
James Ducker has taken to Twitter to rubbish transfer speculation suggesting that Manchester United are favourites to sign the Colombia international.
Some bookmakers have stopped betting on 25-year-old attacking midfielder to move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
Rodriguez has found his first-team opportunities limited under Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane in the 2016-17 campaign.
The Daily Telegraph’s northern football correspondent Ducker has poured cold water on the possibility of Rodriguez completing a move to Manchester United.
Ducker wrote: “#MUFC not after James Rodriguez, other forwards they’re pursuing. Real trying to create a market for Rodriguez hence endless links”
Rodriguez has scored eight goals and has made six assists in 21 appearances in La Liga this season.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table, which is one position lower than Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United finished last term.
The Red Devils will look to win their second trophy of the 2016-17 season when Manchester United take on Eredivisie giants Ajax in the Europa League final next week.
