Insider explains why Chelsea are unlikely to sign 24-year-old Italian midfielder
Serie A expert David Amoyal doesn't expect Marco Verratti to swap PSG for Chelsea in the summer
Marco Verratti is unlikely to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, according to a Serie A expert.
ESPN columnist David Amoyal has revealed that PSG won’t consider selling the Italy international at the end of the season.
Chelsea have been linked with a move to sign the box-to-box midfielder in the summer as Antonio Conte looks to prepare the Blues for their return to the Champions League next term.
The speculation suggests that the Premier League champions would be willing to spend £55m on the former Pescara midfielder.
Verratti has established himself as a key player for the Ligue 1 side over the past few seasons after winning four successive top-flight titles in the French capital.
Serie A expert Amoyal has appeared to rule out the possibility of Verratti moving to the Premier League in the summer.
Amoyal wrote: “Would surprise me if Verratti left PSG for any club and I have no recent reports on him.”
Verratti has scored six goals in 198 appearances in all competitions this season.
Chelsea will take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
