James Rodriguez will demand the number 10 shirt at Manchester United if he moves to Old Trafford this summer, according to reports.

The Daily Express is reporting that Rodriguez would want to be handed the shirt number should he sign for the Red Devils this summer.

The same story states that could be a likely scenario, given that current holder of the number Wayne Rooney is widely expected to leave Manchester United in the summer.

The number 10 shirt is believed to have been Rodriguez’s preference since he was a youngster.

The article also suggests that a possible deal to bring Rodriguez to Old Trafford is not as far down the line as some reports in Spain have suggested.

The British newspaper says that although Manchester United are interested in signing Rodriguez, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is also on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
