Jamie Carragher reacts to Adam Lallana’s display in Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Watford
The Liverpool legend was impressed with Adam Lallana's impact from the bench
Jamie Carragher hailed Adam Lallana’s impact from the bench in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Watford on Monday night.
The England international was sidelined over the past month or so after the midfielder picked up an injury on international duty following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Lallana was forced to replace Philippe Coutinho in the first half after the Brazilian appeared to suffer a dead leg in the early stages of the Premier League clash in London.
And the former Southampton captain rattled the crossbar with a stunning volley midway through the first half before he played a small role in Emre Can’s stunning wonder goal.
Lallana had Liverpool’s best chance to extend the visitors’ lead on the break but the England man couldn’t get his shot off on time as the Reds looked to hit Watford on the break.
Speaking to Sky Sports about Lallana’s impact on the Premier League clash, former Liverpool defender Carragher singled out the England star for praise.
“You thought Coutinho coming off, Liverpool were lacking players capable of producing a moment of magic. Lallana coming on made a big difference,” Carragher said.
