Alexis Sanchez says he sometimes shows his frustration on the pitch because he feels his Arsenal team-mates are not delivering on their full potential.

The north London side have often come in for criticism in recent months after their dip in form in the Premier League caused them to drop out of the top four in the table.

Arsenal have been left with only a faint hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League heading into the final round of games this season, with Arsene Wenger’s men relying on Liverpool or Manchester City slipping up.

The Gunners have failed to mount a serious title challenge in recent seasons and have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.

And Sanchez says he has been frustrated by his team’s inability to deliver performances because he knows how talented the squad is.

Sanchez told Sky Sports: “[I’m frustrated] because sometimes when I look at the team we have and the players here… because when it comes to winning the Premier League we often lose or draw against teams at home when we are superior.

“Sometimes the frustration more than anything is about the fact we could be challenging for the Premier League title.

“I’ve always said we have great players here, it’s just about having the mentality of being a great player and going out on to the pitch already thinking about winning.”
