Arsene Wenger has admitted that he was “wrong” about when he predicted that he was planning to announce his Arsenal future.

The Arsenal manager’s situation at The Emirates continues to be a relentless source of speculation due to the fact that his current deal is set to expire in the summer and there has not been an official announcement about his future.

Wenger had previously suggested that he would announce his future plans in March or April, but the Frenchman has once again remained coy on his situation.

Asked if is ready to make an announcement on his future, having said he will in March and April, Wenger told a news conference on Thursday morning: “I was wrong.

“This week we have spoken about Aaron Lennon’s mental problem. Like managers, even players are under pressure to perform.

“In life we have ups and downs, in our job, the ups are higher and the downs are lower. That is what you have to deal with.

“I love the positive side of the game. I love to win, to prepare for something big and the hope to do well.”
