Jamie Redknapp believes Tottenham Hotspur have more powerhouses in their squad than bitter rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham eased to a 2-0 win against Arsenal in Sunday’s north London derby at White Hart Lane thanks to goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

The Lilywhites had the chance to extend their lead when Christian Eriksen missed a good chance before Alexis Sanchez escaped punishment for a hand ball in the area.

Spurs are in second place in the Premier League title and four points adrift of current leaders Chelsea with four games to go in the 2016-17 title race.

Arsenal are a staggering 17 points adrift of Tottenham and will finish behind their north London rivals for the first time since Wenger took over at the club.

Writing in his Daily Mail column, former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp explained the difference between Arsenal and Tottenham after Sunday’s one-sided derby.

“Arsene Wenger has borne the brunt of the criticism for Arsenal’s failings this season but the defeat by Tottenham highlighted their need for better players.

“Of the Arsenal XI who started at White Hart Lane, only Alexis Sanchez is good enough to get into this Tottenham team. When Arsenal were winning Premier League titles, they would either play you off the park or battle you off it. There are no powerhouses in this Arsenal squad.

“In Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Dembele, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Dele Alli, Tottenham have them in abundance. Everything has become too comfortable at Arsenal and they desperately need to freshen up their squad.

“The likelihood is they will finish outside the top four but Manchester United and Chelsea have shown that is no hindrance to attracting top talent. This summer, Arsenal need to be brave in the transfer market.”
