Martin Keown has revealed that he would rather sell Mesut Ozil and keep Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal are facing the possibility of missing out on a top-four finish for the first time under Arsene Wenger since the Frenchman’s appointment in 1996.

Ozil and Sanchez’s futures have been a source of constant debate throughout the campaign despite the Arsenal pair struggling to find consistency.

The Chile international has been linked with a move to sign Premier League leaders Chelsea at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Ozil, meanwhile, is thought to be holding out for a contract worth £300,000 a week despite criticism of the World Cup winner’s work ethic.

Speaking to talkSPORT about whether he would prefer to keep Ozil or Sanchez, Keown said:

Sanchez was magnificent again last night [against Southampton]. He was at the weekend.

“Is he playing for a move?

“If you look at those two, Ozil and Sanchez, I would definitely be desperate to keep Sanchez. Maybe not so Ozil.”
