Petr Cech sends message to Arsenal fans about Liverpool
The Arsenal goalkeeper isn't worried about Liverpool's result, insisting that he is only concerned about the Gunners winning
Petr Cech insists he is relaxed about Arsenal’s quest to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
The Gunners are a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League table after Arsene Wenger’s side were 2-0 winners against Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil scored goals in the second half of Tuesday night’s clash to keep their slim hopes of a top-four finish alive with one game to go.
Ironically, Arsenal will host Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton in their final Premier League game of the 2016-17 season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will secure a return to the Champions League if Liverpool manage to beat relegated Middlesbrough at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal number one Cech opened up about the north London side’s faint chances of securing a place in the top four on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
“We have a difficult game – let’s not forget this first,” Cech told the Daily Express.
“We will concentrate on our game and there is only one thing we can do which is to win and then hope the other results will go our way.
“I never care about the other results so I am not going to start now.
“As I said, you do your best and you win your game – whatever happens elsewhere is not in our hands so as if we win our game, we can go to the dressing room and watch what is going to happen. But it will be a very difficult game.”
Arsenal will take on Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday 27 May.
