Gary Neville has warned Antonio Conte that he will have to reinforce his Chelsea squad over the summer ahead of their return to the Champions League.

The Blues eased to a 3-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday thanks to goals from Pedro Rodriguez, Gary Cahill and Willian on Merseyside.

Chelsea temporarily moved seven points clear of Tottenham Hotspur before their title rivals were 2-0 winners against Arsenal in the north London derby at White Hart Lane.

Conte’s side are four points clear of Tottenham and will take on Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford and Sunderland in their final four games in the title race.

The west London side didn’t participate in Europe this season after a disappointing tenth-place finish in the 2015-16 Premier League campaign.

Former Manchester United defender Neville has warned Conte that the next challenge will be preparing Chelsea for a return to the Champions League next term.

“The challenge, obviously, is his squad for next season. He will need to adapt it,” said Neville, speaking to the Gary Neville podcast.

“Chelsea have had no Champions League football this year which has helped him to work in training every week.”
