Antonio Conte admits he’s surprised Chelsea stars do this in the dressing room
Antonio Conte has revealed he was surprised when his Chelsea players started playing loud music in the dressing room
Antonio Conte has admitted that Chelsea’s dressing-room practice of playing music before games took him by surprise.
The Blues boss took over at Stamford Bridge last summer and has been enjoying his first taste of English football as he bids to steer Chelsea to the Premier League title.
Conte has earned plenty of praise for the positive impact he has had at Stamford Bridge since taking over last summer.
Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League table and are also chasing FA Cup glory in Conte’s first season in charge at the west London club.
However, the Blues manager has admitted that he was very surprised to see his Chelsea players play loud music in the dressing room before games when he first arrived at the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Conte said: “It was very strange the first time to arrive and to listen to the music in high volume in the dressing room.
“It was not a shock but I always thought that before the game you must be focused, no? And I thought silence helped find the focus.
“The music is always different, but for sure, it’s not classical music.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action next Monday night when they host Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge looking to take another step closer towards winning the title.
