N’Golo Kante has thanked his Chelsea team-mates for their support this season as the Blues begin to prepare for their FA Cup final clash against Arsenal.

Kante has been in superb form for Chelsea this season since arriving at the club from Leicester City last summer.

His fine displays have not gone unnoticed, and the 26-year-old was named as the PFA player of the year last month.

Kante was also voted as the Footballer Writers’ footballer of the year after helping Chelsea win the Premier League title in his first campaign at the club.

The French midfielder will be hoping to help Chelsea end the season on a high by claiming a domestic double when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on 27 May.

Upon collecting his footballer of the year prize, Kante singled out his team-mates for special praise and also pointed towards the final as a chance to end the season on a high.

Kante told Chelsea’s website: “It is very special because a few years ago I was playing in the French lower divisions.

“Five years ago I wasn’t even a professional so to receive this kind of award means I am the kind of player I could not even imagine being.”
