Cesc Fabregas has admitted that Antonio Conte has got his Chelsea team working very hard behind the scenes this season.

The Italian manager has had a huge impact since being appointed as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at Stamford Bridge last summer.

Conte has masterminded a dramatic turnaround in form at Stamford Bridge after the Blues’ 10th-placed finish last season.

Chelsea are now on the verge of winning the Premier League title and will be crowned champions if they beat West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Friday night.

And Chelsea midfielder Fabregas has revealed some of the secrets of the Blues’ success this term under Conte.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Fabregas said:

“We’ve been working very hard, to be honest.

“[There has been] a lot of running and a lot of tactics but we have to be realistic.

“This year, the positive thing is that we didn’t play in the Champions League and so we could prepare physically in a fantastic way.

“The coach had a lot of time to work with us. Everyone at the club deserves a moment like tonight.”

Fabregas was named as the man of the match on Monday night as he helped Chelsea seal a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough.

The 30-year-old has found his playing time to be somewhat restricted this season and Monday marked just his 11th Premier League start of the campaign.
