Pundit warns Arsenal about Cesc Fabregas ahead of Chelsea cup final clash
Pat Nevin says the stage is set for Cesc Fabregas to shine for Chelsea against Arsenal in the FA Cup final
Pat Nevin has claimed that the stage is set for Cesc Fabregas to shine against former club Arsenal and fire Chelsea to FA Cup glory at Wembley.
The Blues are set to take on the Gunners at Wembley on Saturday 27 May as Antonio Conte looks to complete a domestic double in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Conte has already seen his team win the Premier League title this season and is looking to add another trophy to his collection to cap a brilliant first campaign with an FA Cup triumph at the end of the month.
Fabregas has been in fine form for the Blues in recent weeks and will be hoping to get his chance to shine against his former club at Wembley later this month.
And former Chelsea star Nevin feels that the stage is set for Fabregas to impress against his former club in the final.
Nevin wrote in his column for Chelsea’s website: “Arsenal’s midfield wouldn’t fancy winning against Kante and Matic in a battle, but it seems set up for Cesc considering the form he is in and that it is against his old club.
“The size of the pitch at Wembley would suit Cesc’s passing, but might it be better to hold him in reserve for the second half to exploit tiring opponents?”
