Jamie Carragher uses Cesc Fabregas to make point about Chelsea
Jamie Carragher has his say about Cesc Fabregas' lack of playing time at Chelsea this season
Jamie Carragher believes that Cesc Fabregas’ lack of playing time at Chelsea this season simply proves just what a strong squad the Blues have.
The midfielder has found his playing time to be somewhat restricted this season following the appointment of Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
Indeed, Fabregas has only started 11 Premier League games for the Blues this term but has been in fine form whenever called upon by his manager.
The former Arsenal captain has scored four goals and made 11 assists in the Premier League to help move Chelsea to within one win of the title.
And ex-Liverpool star Carragher believes that Fabregas’ lack of first-team action highlights just how strong Conte’s squad is.
Carragher told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: “He [Fabregas] is still one of the best midfielders we’ve seen in the Premier League, creatively.
“It just shows how strong Chelsea are that he can’t get in the team.”
Chelsea will win the Premier League title for the second time in three seasons if they beat West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Friday night.
The Blues will also take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at the end of the month.
