Cesc Fabregas: This is what Chelsea have done so well this season
Cesc Fabregas explains what he thinks has been a key ingredient of Chelsea's success this season
Cesc Fabregas has praised his Chelsea team-mates for the way they have responded to adversity this season after they took another big step towards the title on Monday night by beating Middlesbrough.
The 30-year-old midfielder was named as the man of the match as Antonio Conte’s men beat Boro 3-0 to leave them within a win of lifting the Premier League trophy.
Fabregas will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues look to win the title on Friday night by beating West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
And the Spanish midfielder feels that Chelsea’s response whenever they have had setbacks this season has been a key ingredient of their success this term.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Monday’s game, Fabregas said: “When you are used to winning and you’re in a club with players who have won a lot and you go into what happened last season – such bad form, we didn’t know what was going on – you lose some of that confidence in important moments and I think this season we’ve done this well.
“Every time we had a defeat we bounced back really quickly.”
Goals from Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic wrapped up the three points for Chelsea against Middlesbrough and left them on the brink of the title.
The Blues are also set to take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at the end of the month.
