Eden Hazard set Chelsea challenge by Gary Neville
The former Man United defender says Eden Hazard should be scoring 25 goals-a-season at Chelsea
Gary Neville has challenged Eden Hazard to score 25 goals-a-season to prove that the Chelsea star is a world-class player.
The Belgium international won his second Premier League title in three seasons at Stamford Bridge on Friday night thanks to a 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
Hazard failed to get on the score sheet against the Baggies and Antonio Conte replaced his no10 with Michy Batshuayi before the Belgian substitute netted a late winner.
The 2015 PFA player of the year has scored 15 times and has made nine assists in 33 appearances in the Premier League this season to rekindle his best form under Conte.
Hazard has scored more times in the current campaign than his return of 14 goals in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign under Jose Mourinho in the 2014-15 Premier League season.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football about Hazard’s goal return, former Manchester United defender Neville demanded more from the Chelsea forward.
“Fifteen goals and five assists is a good season. I think he should be hitting 20, 25 and double figures for assists,” Neville said.
Chelsea can complete the double this season if the west London side manage to beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
