Ian Wright has warned Chelsea that they cannot afford to let Eden Hazard leave the club in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian playmaker has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and his fine displays for Chelsea have helped the Blues top the Premier League table.

Hazard has scored 15 goals in the Premier League for Antonio Conte’s men to leave the west London side needing just two wins from their remaining four games.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a possible move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

However, Wright has warned Chelsea that they cannot afford to lose their key man as they prepare for a return to the Champions League with the Blues next season.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight show, Wright said: “They’ve got to keep hold of Eden Hazard.

“When Real Madrid start sniffing around for your players you’ve got a problem because they don’t seem to stop until the get them.

“I’m sure that Hazard wants to go to that level. Whether or not it’s going to be next season or the season after… [I don’t know].”
