Antonio Conte warned about Chelsea summer transfers
Andy Hinchcliffe warns Antonio Conte that Chelsea cannot afford to lost Eden Hazard or Diego Costa this summer
Andy Hinchcliffe has warned Antonio Conte that his priority in the summer transfer window must be to keep Eden Hazard and Diego Costa at Chelsea – ahead of signing new players.
The Blues are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
Conte is likely to want to significantly bolster his squad in the summer as he prepares his side for a return to the Champions League for next season.
However, there is also uncertainty about both Hazard and Costa’s futures at Stamford Bridge.
Hinchcliffe has talked up the importance of Conte keeping the key duo at Chelsea beyond the summer and says it must be a priority ahead of signing new players.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday morning, Hinchcliffe said: “You need a quality squad if you’re going to fight on so many different fronts, especially if you’re going to win domestic titles and win the Champions League.
“The key thing isn’t who he signs, although I’m sure there are one or two players who he would love to bring into the squad, it’s whether Costa and Hazard are going to stay.
“Those are two individuals who have the brilliance in the squad to wins games. These two players are key this season, next season and the next two or three seasons.”
Chelsea are currently gearing up for their Premier League clash against West Brom on Friday night as they look to try and win the title with a victory.
