The Blues are likely to want to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window as Antonio Conte prepares for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been the Premier League’s top side this season and will lift the trophy in front of their home fans on Sunday afternoon after their game against Sunderland.
The west London side will also look to win a domestic double this season when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final at the end of the month.
Chelsea are bound to be linked with a host of player in the summer and Griezmann has long been touted as a target for Premier League clubs.
And Merson says he would be surprised if Chelsea did not go in for the 26-year-old, because he is expecting to see Diego Costa leave the club.
Merson wrote in his column for the Daily Star: “I’d be surprised if they didn’t show an interest in Antoine Griezmann as well.
“They need a striker because Diego Costa will probably leave.”
