Ian Wright has questioned why Antonio Conte would consider leaving Chelsea after winning the Premier League title.

The Blues secured their first title under the Italian coach on Friday night when Chelsea were 1-0 winners against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

The west London side won the Premier League title with two games to spare after their phenomenal form throughout the 2016-17 campaign.

Chelsea can complete the double if Conte’s side beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley later this month.

However, Conte has been linked with a potential move to Inter Milan in the summer, with the Italian giants thought to be preparing a huge offer.

Speaking to the Sun Goals podcast about the speculation around Conte’s future, Arsenal legend Wright said:

“Why would he do that? Who has said that? Why would he come for one season? Why would he got back to Italy?

“He hasnt even built a team yet. He took over Jose Mourinhio’s team – a team that was struggling. He has turned them into champions. He has an owner that will back him. Why would he leave without getting some players that he wants? It’s ridiculous rumours.”

Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last term which prompted the west London side to appoint Conte as their new manager.

The Blues signed five players in the 2016 summer transfer window.
