Robbie Savage tells Chelsea to sign 24-year-old, he’d be a good fit
The former midfielder believes Everton striker Romelu Lukaku would be a good signing for Chelsea
Robbie Savage believes Romelu Lukaku would be a good signing for Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The Belgium international’s future has been a source of constant speculation throughout the 2016-17 season after his prolific form under new Everton boss Ronald Koeman.
Lukaku has scored 24 goals in 36 games in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season, attracting interest from champions Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
The 24-year-old moved to Everton in a 27m deal from Chelsea in the 2013 summer transfer window after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are preparing for the possibility of losing Diego Costa in the summer as the striker continues to be linked with China and a return to former club Atletico Madrid.
Speaking to BBC Radio’s 606 podcast, former Leicester City and Manchester United midfielder Savage backed Chelsea’s pursuit of Everton striker Lukaku this summer.
“I think Lukaku would be a good fit for Chelsea, I really do,” Savage said.
Lukaku has scored 67 times in 140 games in all competitions during loan spells at West Brom and Everton before completing a permanent switch to Goodison Park.
