Pundit sends warning to Liverpool about Arsenal
Phil Thompson warns that Liverpool's top-four job is not done yet...
Phil Thompson has warned Liverpool that their job is not done yet as they look to beat Arsenal to a top-four finish this weekend.
The Reds are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table and know that they will secure Champions League qualification if they beat Middlesbrough in their final game of the season on Sunday.
Arsenal moved to within a point of Liverpool thanks to their 2-0 win over Sunderland at The Emirates on Tuesday night as they look to try and catch Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Liverpool have the luxury of having their fate in their own hands as they gear up for their crunch clash with Middlesbrough this weekend.
And former Liverpool star Thompson has warned that the Reds must complete the job on Sunday in front of their home fans.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday morning, Thompson said: “It isn’t done yet.
“That’s the nice thing I heard Jurgen Klopp say. The players in the dressing room are saying one more game. They have to turn up.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place and without a trophy last season.
