Guillem Balague sends message to Liverpool fans about Philippe Coutinho exit talk
Guillem Balague says Barcelona do not want to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool this summer
Barcelona do not want to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool this summer, according to Guillem Balague.
The Brazilian playmaker has established himself as one of the top attacking talents in the Premier League since his arrival at Anfield from Inter Milan back in January 2013.
Coutinho has been in fine form for the Reds this season and has scored 10 goals and made six assists in the top flight for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
There have been media reports linking Coutinho with a possible transfer to Barcelona in the summer window.
However, Spanish football expert Balague has poured cold water on those reports, insisting that the La Liga side are not keen on signing the playmaker from Liverpool this summer.
Balague told Sky Sports: “There are more stories coming out that Barcelona want Coutinho and I think he might be willing to go, but Barcelona are not after him.
“It’s just moves the agents are making to try to convince Barcelona to move for him. But they do not want him.”
Coutinho will be hoping to feature for Liverpool when the Reds return to Premier League action on Sunday with a home clash against Southampton, as they look to take a step closer towards a top-four finish.
