Rio Ferdinand hailed Emre Can’s incredible goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Watford on Monday night.

The Germany international made the breakthrough in the Premier League clash on the stroke of half-time in stunning fashion thanks to Can’s overhead kick.

Lucas Leiva picked out the versatile midfielder with a cross and Can managed to guide a scissor kick past Heurelho Gomes on the move.

Can’s effort has already earned comparisons with Wayne Rooney’s memorable bicycle kick in the Manchester derby and Andy Carroll’s wonder goal earlier this season.

Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand explained what he liked Can’s stunning goal at Vicarage Road.

“Another midfielder I’m going for this week is Liverpool’s Emre Can,” said Ferdinand, revealing his Premier League team of the week on his YouTube channel.

“Did you see the goal? The passing and the movement. Then the execution: a bicycle kick. Top bins.”

Can has scored seven goals in 86 games in the Premier League following the versatile midfielder’s £6.75m move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014.

Liverpool are in third place in the Premier League table and four points ahead of Ferdinand’s former club Manchester United in the top-four race.
