Jamie Carragher admits he has been surprised by Liverpool’s resilience on the road in the Premier League.
The Merseyside outfit battled to a 1-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night thanks to Emre Can’s overhead kick in the first half.
Liverpool have beaten Stoke City, Watford and West Bromwich Albion in their last three Premier League games on the road.
The 18-time English champions are in third place in the Premier League table and three points ahead of Manchester City in the race to finish in the Champions League spots.
Liverpool will make the long trip to West Ham United in their final Premier League fixture on the road in the 2016-17 season.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football about Liverpool’s recent performances away from Anfield, ex-defender Carragher said:
“Liverpool are showing us things we didn’t think they had in tough away games.”
Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace in their last Premier League game at Anfield following Christian Benteke’s brace either side of half-time.
The Reds will host Southampton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
