Ian Wright insists Jurgen Klopp will be able to reflect on a successful season if Liverpool secure a top-four finish on Sunday.

The Reds will seal a place in the top four if the Merseyside outfit beat Middlesbrough in their final Premier League game at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool are looking to secure a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2013-14, when Brendan Rodgers led the five-time European champions to a second-placed finish behind Manchester City.

The 18-time English champions have endured a mixed second season under Klopp after Liverpool looked on course to challenge for the title before their campaign started to unravel in early 2017.

Former Arsenal striker Wright insisted that Klopp could reflect on a successful season if Liverpool do secure their return to the Champions League.

“It will be a good season if Liverpool finish in the top four,” Wright told the Sun Goals podcast.

“I’m not sure what more you want from Klopp in terms of a new manager with a team in transition if they want to get in the top four regularly.”
