Michael Owen sends message to Man United fans about Ander Herrera

Michael Owen says he has been very impressed by Ander Herrera’s performances for Manchester United this season.
The Spanish midfielder has earned plenty of praise for his displays for the Red Devils this term after becoming a regular in the team under Jose Mourinho.
Herrera was widely praised for the man-marking job he did on Eden Hazard to keep the Belgian playmaker quiet during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Chelsea last month.
Owen has been particularly impressed by the versatility Herrera has shown at Manchester United this season under Mourinho.
Speaking on BT Sport before Manchester United’s clash with Swansea on Sunday, Owen said: “I thought he was more of an attacking midfield player at the start, with assists and goals.
“But he’s been used in a variety of positions and in the game against Chelsea he was doing the man-to-man marking job.
“I wouldn’t say he’s blessed with lightning pace but he’s very disciplined and he can create a goal.
“He’s really becoming the all-round midfield player and with the injuries he’s going to be even more crucial.
“He can defend, he can cut out passes, but when he gets free he can play a perfectly-weighted ball.”
Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2014.
The midfielder will be hoping to be involved when Manchester United return to Europa League action on Thursday night with a trip to Spain to take on Celta Vigo in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
