Thierry Henry: Jose Mourinho will be laughing at Arsenal after Man United loss
Thierry Henry believes that Jose Mourinho will have the last laugh after Arsenal's win over Manchester United on Sunday
Thierry Henry believes that Jose Mourinho will be “laughing” at Arsenal and Arsene Wenger at the end of the season if Manchester United qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils suffered a damaging blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four this season when they were beaten 2-0 by the Gunners at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
That result left Mourinho’s men in fifth place in the Premier League table as they try and secure a top-four finish before the season is out.
However, Manchester United still have a big chance to qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.
Mourinho is currently preparing his team for their crunch semi-final second-leg clash against Celta Vigo at Old Trafford on Thursday night after their 1-0 win in Spain last week.
And Arsenal legend Henry feels that Mourinho will be having the last laugh if Manchester United do manage to book their place in next season’s Champions League.
Henry said on Sky Sports on Sunday: “That’s what he’s waiting for – to say, ‘at the end of the day we are going to be in the Champions League’.
“[To say,] ‘I knew we were going to win it and have two trophies’.
“So you find yourself in the situation where he’s going to have the last laugh at the end of the day. I’m sure he’s waiting to tell us he was right!”
