Charlie Nicholas is expecting to see David De Gea move to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window if Real Madrid come calling.

The Spaniard’s future has been a source of speculation in recent months amid claims that the Spanish giants are set to reignite their interest in signing him this summer.

De Gea came close to signing for Real Madrid back in September 2015 only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

It remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho will be able to keep hold of the Spanish shot-stopper beyond the summer transfer window.

However, former Arsenal star Nicholas reckons it will be difficult for the Red Devils to keep De Gea if Real Madrid step up their interest in signing him.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday morning, Nicholas said: “I think he will be at Real Madrid if they’re in for him.

“They are looking for a goalkeeper. He is No1. Everything tells me he will be at Real Madrid next season.”
