Gary Neville says Tottenham Hotspur showed Jose Mourinho the level that Manchester United need to be at next season.

Spurs were 2-1 winners against Manchester United in their last-ever Premier League game at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Victor Wanyama broke the deadlock in the first half before Harry Kane scored his first goal against Manchester United with a deft finish.

Spurs wasted chances to extend their lead before Manchester United netted a late consolation goal through Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 15 points behind second-placed Tottenham.

Former defender Neville believes Manchester United have a lot of work to do after a disappointing Premier League campaign under Mourinho.

“Spurs are showing a level Manchester United need to be at and beyond, considering they haven’t won the league especially with the energy and the passing,” Neville told Sky Sports.
