Gary Neville has criticised Manchester United’s disastrous home form in their first season in the Premier League.

The Red Devils lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon to suffer a blow to their top-four ambitions.

Manchester United are in fifth place in the table and are five points behind Liverpool in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Jose Mourinho’s side have drawn 10 games and lost once in 18 games at Old Trafford in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season.

Manchester United can still finish their first season under Mourinho on a high note if the Red Devils win the Europa League and secure their place in the Champions League.

Speaking to Monday Night Football about Manchester United’s poor performances in the Premier League at Old Trafford this season, Neville said:

“It’s been disastrous at home. They’ve dropped 10 or 12 points at home against stupid teams.

“I don’t know why the wide players are so deep. Is it acceptable as a tactic at Manchester United? No.”
